Eva Fricke, who began producing Riesling in the small town of Eltville in 2011, is now considered one of the most exceptional producers in the Rheingau region. With vineyards covering 17 hectares, her philosophy is one of gentle intervention, spontaneous fermentation, and indigenous yeasts. She remains faithful to organic and biodynamic farming methods, not only for their environmental benefits but also because she believes this is the best way to bring out the character of the terroir.
Her wines are aged for 4-10 months on fine lees, thus acquiring weight, complexity, and balanced freshness. Rheingau Riesling may be Eva Fricke's introductory wine, but its quality is an example of purity and balance, a perfect marriage of ripe fruit and genuine minerality. She considers her single-vineyard wines, Krone and Schlossberg, to be her Grands Crus, as they highlight the authentic character and uniqueness of the Rheingau region.
