The Astrolabe winery is located in Marlborough, New Zealand, and its wines are characterized by the complexity and fullness offered by both the unique climate and soils of the region and the grapes used, which come from small vineyards scattered throughout the region, such as the Wairau and Awatere valleys and the southern coast of Kekerengu.
Simon Waghorn, owner of Astrolabe and winemaker, chose this name not only because of the region's historical ties to the explorers and navigators who mapped it, but also because it reflects his personal desire for continuous exploration so that Astrolabe wines continue to combine high quality with the aromatic character of the terroir.
